CLOSUP Research Projects
Evaluation of Teacher Effectiveness
Project Summary
Beginning in Fall 2008, the Center for Local, State, and Urban Policy is conducting an evaluation project regarding teacher effectiveness in the public school system of a large southern U.S. city. The primary objective of the project is to develop a teacher performance rating system (TPRS) that identifies the relative effectiveness of teachers at improving student outcomes. CLOSUP project staff will then advise the school system regarding how to integrate the TPRS into its own data management systems for future use.
