Arts & the Environment: Earth, Air, Fire, Water Location: Duderstadt Center Science Café: Prospects for Renewable Energy *Science Café: Balance of Power? Prospects for Renewable and Non-renewable Energy* Wednesday, 11/05/2008 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM At Conor O'Neill's Traditional Irish Pub, 318 S. Main St., Ann Arbor. Join Steve Kesler of the University of Michigan Department of Geological Sciences and Greg Keoleian, Co-director of the Center for Sustainable Systems in the U-M School of Natural Resources and the Environment for a look at the political, economic, and technical prospects for both renewable and non-renewable energy resources. How can we meet tomorrow’s needs for energy? Where should we put our investment today? How will policy decisions play out in Michigan and what role can consumers play in achieving a sustainable energy future? On the day after the presidential election, this café is sure to be a forum for lively debate, so please come early to assure a seat. Sponsored by the Energy Futures Theme Semester of the U-M College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. Join us for hors d’oeuvres at 5:30 and a brief presentation at 6:00 pm, followed by discussion. Participants must be 21 to purchase alcoholic beverages. Everyone is welcome and invited to purchase additional food and beverages.
