Tour of Toxic Sites in Detroit Tour of Toxic Sites in Detroit October 17, 2009 11:00a.m.- 5:00p.m. bus departs in front of SPH II Sponsored by Ctr for Occupational Health and Safety Engineering Contact Information: Maryellen Bartolome; mbartolo@umich.edu; 936-0749 Cost: Free, box lunch provided More Information: http://sitemaker.umich.edu/cohse/toxic_tour The University of Michigan NIOSH-funded Center for Occupational Health and Safety Engineering invites all interested students and faculty to participate in a tour of neighborhoods in southwest and eastside Detroit to examine a variety of environmental hazards first hand. Our bus tour of toxic sites in Detroit will depart from Washington Heights in front of the main entrance to School of Public Health Building II, 1420 Washington Heights, Ann Arbor at 11am (sharp!). Participants will be dropped off by the tour bus at the same location at approximately 5pm. A box lunch will be provided at no charge. Please RSVP to Maryellen Bartolome no later than Monday Oct. 6 to reserve your seat: mbartolo@umich.edu, or 936-0749. Seating reservations are on a first come, first serve basis. The tour will be led by volunteers from Detroiters Working for Environmental Justice. DWEJ is organized to empower individuals, communities, and community organizations in Southeast Michigan to educate, advocate and organize for cleaner, healthier communities and environments.
