Information, Resources and Outreach
A main component of CLOSUP's mission is information dissemination and outreach. In addition to its publications and events, a major effort in this area is the Center's extensive website, which serves as a centralized source of information for researchers, students, policymakers, the media, and the public interested in state, local, and urban policy. The site provides links to a wide range of information sources, directories, publications, organizations, governments, and so on. The website helps CLOSUP to both promote the production of new and innovative policy-relevant scholarship and to disseminate that knowledge to policymakers, the public, and other stakeholders.
CLOSUP's internal resources are accessible through the navigation menu to the left. In addition, CLOSUP also retains information related to select resources available outside of the Center:
- CLOSUP's "Public Sector Excellence" database is intended to help spread knowledge of excellence in public sector service delivery and of innovative solutions to public sector challenges being implemented by a wide variety of organizations including state and local governments, higher education institutions, public school systems, and more. Across the country, numerous annual award programs recognize the best examples of excellence and of innovative programs and projects that address challenges facing communities of all kinds.
- Note: As of Fall 2012, the Public Sector Excellence database is no longer being actively updated. Please contact CLOSUP staff more more information.
- CLOSUP also maintains a listing of select additional resources, including links to University of Michigan and governmental webpages.
